Roy Jones vs. Jeff Lacy – Well, I might be the only one cheering at this “senior circuit” of sorts.  Given the health risks of boxing, we don’t cheer for this type of thing, but I think it’s a good move that shot fighters, who are still relatively healthy, can cash in on their former name.  Lacy’s best years are behind him already, and Jones’ are well-documented to be so.  I think they will put on the show we are expecting, with Jones out-boxing Lacy in a dull unanimous decision.  Maybe Lacy cranks Roy will a big shot, and gets lucky, but don’t bet on it.  Lacy never was sneak y about his attempts tog et punches through, and even a slowed Jones can recover from a one-at-time offensive strike.  While there is no future in this one, there is one heck of a past.  I personally will not be paying for it, but I won’t be condemning it, either.
 
Tavoris Cloud vs. Clinton Woods – This fight may not be the simple anointing of Cloud as a fractional belt-holder that we think it is.  Remember, as brilliant and patient as Cloud looked against Julio Gonzalez, Woods also has as clear cut a victory over a similarly weathered Gonzalez, as well as far more experience, and a more reserved style.  Cloud may find himself having to create offense against a capable fighter for the first time.  If Woods can combine the counterpunching style he tried to employ against Tarver, with actual movement of the fist, he may be able to pull off the upset.  However, I think the X-factor here may be Woods decline as an overall fighter, and Cloud might be getting his second right place right time opponent=2 0in a row.  The i nitial pick here is Cloud by decision or late round TKO, but unless he looks brilliant, he likely won’t be picked against the winner of Dawson vs. Johnson, which he would deserve to get.
 
Juan Urango vs. Randall Bailey – Yes, Urango has been dropped, and yes, Bailey can still really crack, but when you have a battle between two limited but spirited combatants, the win goes to the one who presents consistency.  For better or worse, we always know what Urango is bringing to the table.  Bailey has blown winnable fights, and looked great when he wasn’t supposed to, therefore a pick is not as clear on his end… but Urango’s constant pressure will be more than enough to cause the lesser bailey to take over and find a way out, probably around the 8th round.
