Cage vs. Cons a new MMA promotion based out of Southern California held its first event at the Los Angeles Sports Arena. Bringing live professional MMA, hip-hop, and a tattoo expo to the area. The event started at 11:00 A.M. with hip hop performances by Too Short, E-40, The Dogg Pound and many other popular hip hop groups. Tommy "Tiny" Lister, known as Deebo from the movie Friday along with Danny Trejo hosted the event. This fight included 10 professional MMA fights between police officers, firefighters, and former military against ex-convicts.
The main event of the night was a bout between Los Angeles police officer Ismael Gonzalez and ex-con Rick Slaton. Gonzales knocked out Slaton at 4:36 in the first round. The co-main event was a welterweight matchup between Joe Nicholas and Jason Meaders. Joe Nicholas won by KO at 0:47 seconds of round three.

Jessie Cannon vs. Corey Dennis / Winner: Corey Dennis TKO 2:30 of round one.
Matthew Gonzalez vs. Sal Farnetti / Winner: Matthew Gonzalez via TKO 1:57 of round one.
Hector Pena vs. Anthony Tesam / Winner: Hector Pena 1:58 Round 1 via guillotine choke.
