PERTH, Western Australia (10 April 2012) – Following on from the huge success of Bragging Rights I which established Perth based fighter, Soa “The Hulk” Palelei, as the K-OZ Super Heavyweight Title Holder, K-OZ Entertainment promises to raise the stakes even higher with Bragging Rights II – Battle of the Trenches. MMA fans and local businesses are lining up to be part of the first ever televised WA Cage Fight to be replayed on Foxtel.
Bragging Rights II will be held on the eve of Anzac Day, Tuesday 24th April, at the WA Italian Club. The event will showcase the best fighters from Australia, New Zealand and the USA. Paying homage to the sacrifices made by troops defending these countries, fans will witness the intensity and passion of competition in a hand-to-hand combat fest.
Headlining this history-making event is Xavier “The X-Man” Lucas. Lucas, a former Special Forces recruit, grew up in Durban, South Africa but now calls Perth, Australia home. Representing Australia, with an impressive record of 10-2-1, Lucas is regarded as the best pound for pound fighter in this country.
Proof of this well deserved reputation is the fact that nine fighters refused to step into the cage with this unassuming fighter. That is, until word reached Las Vegas and Strikeforce fighter, David “Hollywood” Hulett agreed to the challenge. Representing the US, Hulett sports an imposing record of 19-10-0. The main event will face off against each other for the inaugural K-OZ Welterweight Title belt.
Not to be outdone and returning to defend the K-OZ Middleweight Title belt is Dave “The Pain Train” Mazany (8-4) who will battle it out with Forrest Goodwin (4-1 Strike Force, NZ).
Rounding out the card and building on his winning momentum is local favourite, Steve “The Streamrolla” Kennedy (12-5) who will take on the equally notable Sam “Striker” Brown (10-4 Strike Force, NZ).
Returning to the cage and fighting to keep his win streak on a roll is rising MMA star with a remarkable following of his own is Rob “The Powder Drill” Powdrill (5-2). Powdrill will take on Pat “The Luchador” Crawley (8-2 Strike Force, NZ), #1 ranked Middlewieght Legends MMA Hong Kong and former member of the New Zealand army.
Other highlights of the night will include Chris Indich vs Peter Carr, Scott Noras vs Roy Foreman "Debut" and Joel Oliver vs. TBC.
Tickets are available and range in price from $55 general admission to VIP Gold at $300 per person, which includes a gift bag, a 3-course meal and beverages.
