What does it take to be a world champion?
If a boxer or MMA fighter learns his trade and successfully advances through hard work, diligent attention to the techniques, does thorough cardio work, gets adequate sparring and has a heart of stone, then that fighter might like a schoolboy, advance from grade school to Junior High. If the boxer is motivated and dedicated by then and experiences in the ring the hell of the game and can take it to to the next level, say Open Class amateur, and grow through that competition to the grade of a Senior High Schooler, fast forward his career with proper body and health care, an excellent weight training program, a work ethic of lumberjack proportions, development of a fearless mind, and the intestinal fortitude to strictly follow his trainers game plan and execute it to perfection, then growth to this nations amateurs highest level of competition can be obtained. After that, it is 'College Time', time to hunker down with the world's best amatuer's and to work even harder in the gym and with the gray matter to best the best including Olympic boxers or wrestlers. If one is going to fight MMA, a load of Jiu Jitsu might come in handy along with some serious karate kicks as learned in Tae Kwon Do.Then and only then, can one with a brave heart, good mind, and loads of top notch experience and character expect to have a professional career that can lead to a world championship goal. And that my dear friends is this: In order to be a world champion, one must train like a world champion, believe like a world champion, think like a world champion, and sacrifice like a world champion. Yes, a few flukes have emerged, but most titles are gained by champions who earned their goals the hard way, learning their trade - a trade that is costly in the spilling of blood and bruising of guts and sometimes even fatal.
