Brett Rogers knockouts former UFC Heavywweight King Andrei Arlovski

andrei_arlovskiUndefeated Brett Rogers 10-0 with his ninth knockout scored an amazing first-round knockout against former Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight king Andrei Arlovski Saturday on Strikeforce’s card at the Scottrade Center. The former UFC Heavyweight Champion Arlovski, has now been knocked out in each of his last two fights. Rogers disposed Arlovski in  just 22 seconds by blasting Arlovski with a left hook that sent the former UFC champ staggering back into the cage. Rogers finished him off  with an outbreak of punches, including a left-right-left combination that almost left Arlovski’s head spinning. At only 30 years old, Arlovski still could continue to fight at a high level for 5 more years or more. He was knocked out by Fedor Emelianenko in Affliction’s Day of Reckoning January fight card in Anaheim, California. The psychological effects of Rogers hits to Arlovski’s chin are startling. In some expert’s opinion fighters who get knocked out as hard as Arlovski was by Emelianenko and Rogers are never truly able to take a hard shot again. Knockout losses have a far more lasting impact than the physical damages sustained. The one-time Sam’s Club employee Brett Rogers, is expecting another high profile bout on national TV. Strikeforce is interested in having Rogers on their August 15th card against heavyweight champion Alistair Overseem. The card will also features a women’s showdown between Gina Carano and Cris “Cyborg” Santos.ett Rogers
