Auto body repair shops plagued in fraud

It is said that the finest art is created by those who truly love art. The same may be said for talented auto body paint and repair technicians.  It’s important to differentiate the average body shop who is content with mediocre work and insurance claims and those who take actual pride in Custom Body and Paint. Whether one is customizing a lowrider or restoring an all original classic, one of the hardest things is finding a body shop willing to give your car the paint job it deserves. A  great paint job is one done by professionals who truly understands and enjoy the art of auto paint.  These professionals take pride in their art and their excellent reputations speak for themselves. 

Fraudulent Body Shops - Many who have experienced the struggle of restoring cars know that the art of custom auto paint and repair is being taken over by shady shops simply in for it for the money. Deceitful body shops may appear sincere in advertisement and appearance but one may find that these places prefer taking on insurance claims and avoid others as if they were a cancer. The first thing one may expect to see posted on many fraudulent Body Shops is “Insurance Claims Welcome”.

Ask any random person to name the most iconic classic compact car ever built and chances are he or she may proclaim the Volkswagen Beetle. Indeed the VW Beetle, or "Bug" as many call it is one of the world's most recognized and well-liked classic cars. There's more to the "Love-Bug" than Disney's motion picture Herbie and its notable red, white and blue racing stripes.

Why the decline of the classic styling of the great American luxury coupe? The answer may come as a result of economic inflation and modern America ’s growing need for the 4 door sedan. As the price of living increased, so did the price of automobiles. No longer was it seen as practical to drive a personal luxury coupe. More and more consumers switched to affordable and gas efficient Japanese sedans, a trend that would eventually stunt the growth of the American luxury coupe.

Super Bike Nation of Orange, California has made it their business to assist bike riders in their efforts of breaking the sound barrier, or simply add some extra kick to the accelerator. What a thrilling experience it was for us to find a super bike show in full effect at SBN's  premiere one-stop shop. There we were able to profile dozens of powerful sport bikes and speak to several race bike riders.

Buick Regal, along with its 3 g-body one of those lowriders  many cannot forget. Seeing a well restored Regal lowrider on the streets today brings back memories of the 80's, a time when American auto makers took pride in designing excellent looking luxury coupes.

El Paso received a free spectacle of fine art, fine automobiles , poetry readings, cultural dance and more on Sunday September 19th, 2010 at Lincoln Park.  The event takes place every September in El Paso, TX. David Arredondo co-founder of ConvictedArtist.com belongs to the Lincoln Park Conservation Committee which puts on the annual events. The committee is made up of a group of successful artists, businessmen, and car club directors.

Pachuco Car Club of Los Angeles maintains super high standards when it comes down to its family oriented club. There’s much more to Pachuco Car Club than meets the eye. First and foremost, the vision of the clubs founding fathers was to maintain unity in the club and decided against chaptering out of Los Angeles. Secondly, Pachuco consists of dozens of respectable U.S. military veterans who share an obsession for vintage car uniformity and perfection.

The Sirens of TI, a 900 pound master piece, was constructed with nearly 250 pounds of scrap iron and steel. The metal was then twisted, welded and sculpted into what appears to be a long-haired pirate-banshee on wheels. With its highly realistic and distinguished detail, the Sirens of TI chopper is plated with both nickel and copper. Diverse forms of art go a long way but rarely is art seen as extreme as this. Metal artist Scott Cawood and Chopper builders Rick Hill and Big Dan, of Metropolitan Choppers have taken the art of bike creation to a whole new level.

A common question asked by many in the lowriding community is: "What ever happened to Orlie?"  Well, we figured it be a good idea to shed some light on this big mystery.  We learned that Orlie Coca was indeed alive and living comfortably in Phoenix, Arizona where he currently owns and operates a hydraulics and vintage car parts shop. When seeking facts, there's nothing closer to the truth than a personal encounter so we decided to meet with Orlie face to face.  Upon meeting Orlie at his remarkable looking ORLIES HYDRAULICS & CHEVY ACCESSORIES shop we were quite impressed with all of its fine detail.  The shop consists of an excellent collection of flawlessly restored Chevy Bel Air classics, aswell as a wall full of memorable lowriding photos that reveal a classic timeline of Lowriding history from coast to coast.  We are pleased to present our sites  visitor’s with this never published report and exclusive interview with Orlie Coca himself.

It’s a bit of a phenomena how some classic luxury cars have earned the distinction of being referred to as lowrider icons. Let's take for example, classic American luxury cars made by GM and Ford. While Ford made pleasant looking luxury coupes and sedans, it was GM that genuinely appealed to the lowrider culture as a whole. GM divisions such as Cadillac, Buick, Oldsmobile, Chevy and Pontiac succeeded in designing luxury cars that would eventually age to become popular lowriders.

The Lowriding community of El Paso, Texas (El Chuco) is honored to nominate Leo Rivera posthumously to the Memorial Leadership Lowriding Hall of fame for his lifetime contributions to the lowrider causa. Leo Rivera was a natural born leader who led, organized, united, and set a high bar for lowriders in Paso, TX. Leo Rivera 2nd was born in El Paso, TX on March 5th, 1964, the year of the 1964 Impala. In 1982 during his sophomore year of high school he was a member of Brown Image Car Club. His first lowrider car was a 1977 Monte. Two years later, after graduating from Bel Air High, Brown Image car club merged into Presence Car Club. After graduation Leo left to Arizona and he studied mechanics.

The DUB Show Tour presented an exotic selection of colorful tricked-out Euros, trucks and classics at the infamous Anaheim Stadium. This slick car show featured a diverse array of fine custom SUVs, fast and furious sports cars, muscle car classics, vintage bombs and candy colored lowriders. Rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg's clean 1967 Pontiac Parisienne, titled Snoop's Lakers ride was exhibited at the event, as well as his pimped-out 1967 Fleetwood Cadillac 'Snoopdeville'. The Show featured a few wild and entertaining bike stunt shows with plenty of wheelies, stoppies, burnouts and coffin maneuvers. Jay Rock, The Game, B.O.B., IYAZ, Nipsey Hussle, Glasses, California, New Boyz, J. Cole, Nola Darling, U-N-I performed on stage, adding some thump to the atmosphere.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Lowrider, Classic truck, Biker and Bomb clubs throughout the Grand Canyon state amazed gambleing spectators in Scottsdale by rolling up in their pristine and classy rides at the Fort McDowell Casino. The clubs participated in one of the states most unique car show and concerts. The car show included over 100 top-notch lowriders from the 60's, 70's and 80's, as well as classic cars from the 30's 40's and 50's. Popular Harely Davidson motorcycles were also there in full effect and added shine to the show with their unblemished chrome.

Chicano Park Day marked the 40th anniversary.
A large variety of colorful classic cars and lowriders interconnected well with a back ground of hundreds of vivid pillar murals in San Diego's Chicano Park.  The park, which is located in the cities Barrio Logan community, attracted car clubs and vintage car collectors from around the nation. Car Clubs in attendance include Amigo's, Old Memories, Pachuco, Individuals, Oldies, New Wave, Latin Pride, Klique, Imperials, Show Time, Majestic's, Southern Royalty, Impalas, and dozens of others.  Out of state car clubs such as Latin Pride, Our Story and Klique of El Paso, Texas
