Roy Jones vs. Danny Santiago - Believe it or not, I see the intelligence in what Jones is doing. If he wins the NABF Cruiserweight title, which I heard was on the line here, he will be ranked to fight WBC Champion Krystoff Wlodarczyk. While he would be an underdog in that fight, if he gives away enough money, he can have it in Pensacola like this one. The Polish fighter, who as I said should have no trouble getting past Jason Robinson, should gladly take that fight. That is the only reason I can think of that Roy is still fighting... to win a belt in the one division available to him where he has not won one, and go out a winner after so many depressing losses. He has the right foil in front of him. Santiago will be honored just to be there, and will likely last the distance. This is something he could not do against Antonio Tarver. Jones by UD.
Antonio Tarver vs. Nagy Aguilera - True, Aguilera was ranked and part of a recent eliminator against Sam Peter, but he is being picked to showcase 41 year old Tarver looking speedy and young at heavyweight. Aguilera scored one spectacular KO over weak chinned Oleg Maskaev, and held his own with Maurice Harris, but I see a wide unanimous decision loss in his future... in a fight that makes us more optimistic than we should be about Tarver's chances at heavyweight.
Sebastian Sylvester vs. Mahir Oral - Again, a protected champion takes an optional defense. Oral can box, but don't forget, every Arthur Abraham opponent looks good for a few rounds. Oral's lack of power will eventually come into play here, as well, as Sylvester will likely overwhelm him with activity. Sylvester by an 8-4 points win.
