MORE PREDICTIONS FOR TUNE-UP MONTH

chris_straitBernard Hopkins vs. Enrique Ornelas
We all know what this is.  A way for Hopkins to retain his ring magazine championship, get a hometown payday, and drum up interest for a Roy Jones rematch.  Hopkins is not a puncher, and Ornelas, while undersized, is durable (he is Librado Andrade's brother after all).  Hopkins by one-sided decision, or merciful corner stoppage late in the fight.

Roy Jones vs. Danny Green.
Green is a risk for Jones, but the proof that he is not much of one, is that Roy even took the fight.  The home-ring advantage won't favor Green at all, since he will likely not lay a glove on Jones.  Jones by unanimous decision.

There are other December fights I have already precited, such as V. Klitshcko over Johnson - TKO 9, and Malignaggi over Diaz, W12.  However, I'd like to add a January one now as well:

Shane Mosley vs. Andre Berto
I am excited about this one.  Forget about how Berto looked against Collazo.  No one looks good against Collazo.  Not even Shane did, and Collazo fought with an injury.  These are two fighters with similar styles and approaches to the game.  Youth vs. experience is the key factor.  This fight will actually be decided by which Mosely shows up.  ironically, however, Mosley often decides which one of his selves will show up, based on his opposition.  Shane does not adjust well in the ring.  He merely cranks up the volume on what he is already doing.  This makes lost fights closer, but does not overcome.  Berto appears to have the same characteristic, and that is what will benefit Mosley most in this fight.  While a scenario of Mosley's timing being off, and Berto being able to control pace isn't out of the realm of possibility.  The most likely occurrence is that Mosley outboxes Berto for the first half of the fight, and fends off a late rally to take a unanimous decision.  Maybe a couple of flash knockdowns will take place on either side, but don't expect a stoppage.
