Convicted Artist Magazine has learned that former four time world champion Hector “Macho” Camacho was arrested today in Tampa Florida on what is being reported as a burglary warrant out of the state of Mississippi. The former champ was arrested around eleven o’clock on October 9th by the Tampa Police Department at a probation office in downtown Tampa.. He is currently being held at one of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office jails.
A source close to the fighter told Convicted Artist that the fighter was on probation for a burglary charge, stemming from a 2004 burglary of a Mississippi computer store. Camacho was permitted to travel to Florida on what is called an Interstate Compact Agreement (which allows a person on probation to travel to states that have an agreement with the state the offense occurred in, but the probationer must check in with a probation officer and follow the rules of that states probationary guidelines) and was due to report to the office on Thursday. Allegedly Camacho was late reporting and this violated his probation. The probation office called in law enforcement and Camacho was taken into custody without incident..
Camacho has had numerous brushes with the law to include drug charges, burglary and an alleged assault. Camacho currently is being held without bond, but is scheduled to see a judge on Saturday morning to decide the next step. The source stated that they were hopeful that they would be able to work something out with the states of Florida and Mississippi and have Camacho free soon, but would keep us up to date. Convicted Artist Magazine will continue to have the true and exclusive story from Hector Camachos’ camp, so keep checking back for more on this developing story. There is also a possiblity that Camacho will be a gest on Wednesday nights Fightin’ Words Radio Show, airing 8-9 pm on www.1490wwpr..com.
