Convicted Artist caught up with heavyweight contender Lamon Brewster, who is in preparation for his upcoming fight July 25th. Brewster, who is known for his heavy hands as well as toughness, gave his thoughts on one of the toughest warriors to grace the ring, Arturo Gatti.
Here is what the former champ had to say.
As a fighter, Gatti captured what a true fighter is, I think that he was a gentleman outside of the ring, and displayed ferociousness inside of the ring. He was not a dirty fighter; he always had a smile on his face out of the ring. In my opinion, he was everything that a fighter should be, if you want to know what a fighter should be, he should be like Arturo Gatti.
He trained hard, he was well prepared when he came to the ring and he was a family man, he was a friend, he was a father, a husband, you really could not ask for more. Every time I saw him he had a smile on his face, he never had anything bad to say and he made you feel warm when he was around, he is definitely going to be missed.
I just wish that fighter’s would pattern themselves after the type of fighter Gatti was. When he was in the ring, he gave 100%, he never slacked, and he always came to fight. He gave the crowd all they could ask for, they always got their money’s worth when it came to see him, win ore lose.
That is what I think of Arturo Gatti.
Stay tuned for an exclusive two part interview from Convicted Artist, as we sit down with Lamon Brewster, and speak on his career, past and future.
